A Cry for Help

At 1:30 AM on Tuesday Jan 19, 2010 – Gimmel Shvat in the Hebrew calendar,  our father, Rabbi Yosef Tevel passed away. He was 55 years old and it was his birthday. His sudden death, caused by a bursted blood vessel in his brain has left us in complete shock.

For those who dont know Rabbi Tevel, he was a truly amazing man, a father, a teacher, and a huge baa’l chesed and baa’l tzedaka ( a charitable and kind man). Tatti (father) was known far and wide to be the go to person for those in need world-wide. Whether it was a person who needed bail posted, a person who needed food to survive the week, a person who needed some pull to get proper medical treatment, or anything at all, it was always brought to Rabbi Tevel.

Our father also single handedly supported his own family as well as several other families in the area. As of recently the financial situation was quite bleak, and now, with the loss of our Tatti , there is literally NO money with which to cover the day to day bills as well as the massive debts that were left behind.

We put this site up as a cry for help, to plead with the Jewish community not to forget the hundreds of thousands of favors, dollars, and hours that our father dolled out on a yearly basis, leaving little time to take care of himself, tied to his phone, fielding calls all day and night, and leaving his door open to the world.

If someone needed money Tatti would be the first to run out and TAKE OUT A LOAN to give to another. Now is the time for those who knew him, and even those who didn’t to look into your hearts, and find a part of him within you.  A part of you that cries out at the pain of others, and feels a need to reach out and help your fellow man.

ANY increment that you can donate, via paypal (you can pay with a credit card, securely, no registration required) will help us to pay the mortgage, buy food, and cover the massive amount of debt that has left our family financially crippled in addition to the tremendous emotional devastation that has befallen our family.

YOU can make a very real difference in the lives of a family that both needs and deserves as much help as they can get.

May we only meet for Simchas ( good events) , and may we experience the ultimate Simcha with the coming of Moshiach (Messiah) Speedily in our days..

Thank you so much in advance for helping our family in the hardest time of our lives.
